Job summary

American University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Health Studies beginning August 1, 2027. Qualifications

PhD (or equivalent) or anticipated completion before Aug 1, 2027.
Strong research record with potential for external funding.
Scholarly productivity with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Ability to articulate a research agenda with funding potential.
Excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, including CEPH-accredited programs.
Willingness to contribute to service and collaboration within the department.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an externally funded program of health policy research.
Teach undergraduate and graduate Health Studies courses in health policy and related areas.
Contribute to department, college, and university service activities.
