Utah State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in graphic design starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach and develop courses in advanced typography, brand identity, design history, and advanced studio across undergraduate and graduate levels.

The role includes curriculum development, graduate thesis advising, and committee service, with ongoing creative research and industry engagement.

Qualifications

• MFA in Graphic Design or terminal degree by start date.
• Contemporary professional industry experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in typography, brand identity, visual systems, and/or design history.
• Awareness of theoretical and cultural concerns in graphic design.
• Proficiency with current design tools and openness to emerging technologies.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate courses in graphic design with emphasis in advanced typography, brand systems, and design history.
• Advise and mentor BFA and MFA students in design practice and careers.
• Maintain an active creative research practice with industry engagement and exhibitions.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program planning in Graphic Design.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service and recruitment.
