Lamar University’s Department of Art & Design invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. The position focuses on teaching typography, brand identity, UX/UI, and portfolio development across undergraduate levels within a vibrant NASAD‑accredited program.

We seek an engaged educator who combines strong design fundamentals with conceptual thinking and fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud on Mac platforms, plus UX/UI prototyping and AI‑assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Requires MFA or terminal degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• Ability to teach all levels of Graphic Design and Foundation Design courses.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Cloud on Mac platforms.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate graphic design courses including typography, brand identity, UX/UI, and introductory design.
• Develop course materials, syllabi, and instructional content aligned with current industry practices.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback to support academic and professional development.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide academic advising and mentorship.
