Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University invites applicants for nine-month, tenure-track forestry faculty positions beginning as early as August 2027. Successful candidates will teach a range of forestry and natural resources management courses, conduct research with undergraduates and graduates, and advise students while contributing to curriculum modernization.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a natural resource management field such as Forestry, Biology, Ecology, Forest Management, Entomology, Ecosystem Sciences or closely related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered.
• Ability to teach ecophysiology, plant production, water resources, aquatic ecology, watershed management, GIS.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of forestry and natural resources management courses per academic year.
• Conduct research and scholarship engaging undergraduate and graduate students.
• Advise Forestry Department students and contribute to curriculum improvements.
