Job summary

The MUSC College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Graduate Practice Program (GPP), focusing on the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. The candidate will contribute to MSN and DNP teaching, both didactic and clinical, and maintain FNP clinical practice.

The successful candidate will relocate to Charleston, SC, participate in curriculum development, scholarship, and service, and support student success in a collaborative academic environment.

Qualifications

• Earned master’s degree as an FNP and eligibility for South Carolina APRN licensure.
• Current national FNP certification.
• At least two years APRN practice in primary care or related setting.
• Current BLS certification.
• MSN-prepared candidates must enroll in a doctoral program within two years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver asynchronous and limited synchronous online learning for MSN and DNP students.
• Apply competency-based teaching strategies to promote learning and clinical reasoning.
• Participate in on-campus learning intensives on non-clinical days.
• Collaborate with faculty teams to evaluate and strengthen curriculum aligned with standards.
• Support curriculum review, quality improvement, and mapping to AACN Essentials.
• Serve as course coordinator or contributing faculty as assigned.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with students and faculty.
• Engage in professional FNP practice in primary care (minimum 20% effort).
• Precept APRN students in clinical practice settings.
• Maintain FNP credentials, licensure, and national certifications.
• Develop scholarship through dissemination, presentations, publications, and other activities.
• Supervise APRN students in clinical settings and review progress.
• Facilitate DNP scholarly project work as assigned.
• Participate in meetings in person or via web-based technology.
• Adhere to MUSC College of Nursing policies and expectations.
• Maintain ongoing proficiency as an educator and clinician.
• Support a culture of respect, equity, collaboration, and excellence.
