The current salary range for this position is $116,500 - $140,500 (9-month academic year salary) however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Finance with an expected start date of July 1, 2027.

The Berkeley Haas finance program has long been held in high regard by both researchers and finance practitioners, both domestically and around the world. Our faculty include leading researchers in a broad set of theoretical and empirical aspects of financial markets and corporate finance. Faculty members investigate substantive topics such as asset pricing, sustainable investing, banking, securities trading, risk management, financial regulation, exchange rate dynamics, mutual fund flows, credit ratings, mortgage markets, and insurance markets. Our faculty are also widely recognized for advancing knowledge and developing theories in allied fields such as real estate in addition to finance.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) or be enrolled in a Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

We are especially interested in applicants pursuing or holding a Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields. We prefer applicants who currently have a Ph.D. or who have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy and will complete the doctoral degree or equivalent degree within six months of the start date.
