Livingstone College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track generalist in English who can teach American and British literature and composition. The candidate should also have expertise in related areas such as technical writing, digital media, or other sub-fields.

The department values innovative teaching using technology, strong communication, and commitment to diversity. Review will begin immediately; position starts January 2026.

Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in English is required; ABD candidates considered.
• 1–2 years of teaching at college/university level required.
• Experience teaching blended, hybrid, and online classes is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Teach 15 hours in the fall semester and 12 hours in the spring semester.
• Hold a minimum of 8 office hours per week.
• Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking, and promote discussion and hands-on learning.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback to inform teaching.
• Submit timely assessment reports.
• Advise and register students.
• Participate in governance and committee work.
• Use Blackboard, MS Teams, and other instructional technologies.
• Generate new curriculum and develop syllabi aligned with goals and outcomes.
• Participate in scholarly and professional development activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
