Job summary

The Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in developmental psychopathology on a 9-month, full-time appointment on the Minneapolis campus, starting August 25, 2027.

We welcome applicants with strong empirical or theoretical publication records and a commitment to teaching and mentoring at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Flexible work arrangements may include schedule and location flexibility.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in developmental psychology or closely related field; ABD welcome but doctorate conferred before start date.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals and conference presentations.
• Potential for teaching at undergraduate/graduate/postdoctoral levels.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse communities and identities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong scholarly record and pursue external funding.
• Teach and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students; contribute to curriculum development.
• Engage in service and outreach activities within College, University, and professional organizations.
