Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point invites applications for the rank of Assistant Professor of Dance – Tenure Track. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of dance techniques, mentor students, and contribute to scholarly and curricular initiatives within the Dance Program.

We seek an outstanding teacher with professional experience, capable of expanding instruction in ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, and tap, and who can contribute to musical theatre courses as needed.

Qualifications

• MFA in Dance.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching jazz technique at all levels.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching Hip Hop, House, Street, Latin styles or other related styles/genres
• Professional performance and/or choreographic experience
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Teach a broad range of dance techniques and levels to undergraduate students.
• Mentor students, advise on academic and artistic development.
• Contribute to curriculum development and reimagining curricular initiatives.
• Choreograph and teach courses such as Dance Composition and Dance History.
• Support department and university service within Theatre and Dance.
