Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Dance – Tenure Track. The 9-month regular faculty position includes teaching a range of dance techniques and theory courses, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development.

The appointee should hold MFA in Dance, have university teaching experience, and demonstrate professional performance or choreography.

Qualifications

• MFA in Dance required; demonstration of teaching jazz technique at all levels.
• Experience teaching Hip Hop, House, Street, or Latin styles is preferred.
• Professional performance and/or choreographic experience required.
• Ability to collaborate and contribute to curriculum and program development.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2-3 technique courses and at least one theory course per semester.
• Advise and mentor students and participate in recruitment activities.
• Contribute to curricular initiatives and new course development.
• Choreograph new works and support department productions including musical theatre.
