Job summary

Cal Poly's Computer Science and Software Engineering Department invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's courses and help develop curricular offerings.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $110,000–$123,000 per year. Cal Poly emphasizes Learn by Doing with hands-on lab work and inclusive excellence in education.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent is required.
• Ability to develop externally funded, applied research with undergrad and grad students and partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.

• Support and expand curricular development in computer science and software engineering.
• Engage in high-quality scholarly work with external peer review.
• Perform service activities at all levels of the university.
