Job summary

Eastern Connecticut State University invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science. The department seeks applicants who will teach undergraduates across levels, participate in curriculum development, and mentor student research. The workload is 12 credit hours per semester and includes advising and service to the department.

Qualified candidates hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field; strong teaching in Java and upper-level courses is

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field, completed before August 2027.
Demonstrated excellence or strong potential to teach Java programming and upper-level courses in Software Engineering, Computer Architecture, Computer Algorithms, Design and Implementation of Programming Languages, or Operating Systems.
Ability to teach core courses as well as develop specialized electives.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate computer science courses at all levels; workload equals 12 credit hours per semester.
Contribute to curriculum development, engage in research, mentor undergraduate student research, advise students, and provide service to the department.
Engage in service to the department, university, and community.
