Job summary

Columbia-Greene Community College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science. The successful candidate will develop and deliver high-quality courses to support the CS program and related fields, mentoring students in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in CS or cybersecurity and at least one year of college teaching. Preference given to cybersecurity, data science and instructional-technology experience, with

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or closely related field.
• At least one year of college-level teaching experience in computer science.
• Ability to teach programming, data structures, algorithms or systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity on computers and networks.
• Commitment to inclusive, supportive learning for diverse students.
• Preferred: experience in cybersecurity, data science or related discipline.
• Familiarity with instructional technology and online/hybrid teaching methods.
• Experience mentoring undergraduates in research, internships or capstones.
• Knowledge of current trends in computer science education.

Responsibilities

• Update existing program and course curriculum and develop new instructional materials.
• Assist with SLO creation and assessment for student learning outcomes.
• Support local business partnerships serving student interests.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators to enhance instruction and completion.
• Participate in course material/equipment/online instruction development.
• Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
• Serve on department, division and college committees.
• Perform duties aligned with contract and college needs in a timely manner.
