The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice starting in fall 2027. Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology; ABD considered.
Experience teaching undergraduate courses online and in person.
Ability to teach both sociology and criminal justice courses.
Engage in research and participate in service activities.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate Sociology and Criminal Justice online and in the classroom.
Teach Writing Intensive courses.
Develop engaging instruction using diverse modalities.
Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
Maintain an active research agenda in the discipline.
Participate in university service, including committee work and curriculum development.
Engage with community and regional stakeholders through disciplinary work.
Contribute to a supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement.
