Job summary

Xavier University in Cincinnati invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice beginning in August 2027. We seek a collaborative teacher-scholar whose teaching and research will strengthen our expertise in criminal justice research methods, policing, or both.

The teaching expectation is 18 credit hours annually and courses offered in-person and online.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Justice Studies, or closely related field is required.
• ABD candidates may be considered if doctorate completed by Aug 1, 2027.
• Evidence of effective college/university teaching or potential for teaching excellence.
• Evidence of an active research agenda and scholarly productivity.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to student advising and mentoring.
• Commitment to Xavier University and Jesuit Catholic educational tradition.
