Job summary

Davidson College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Creative Nonfiction and the Literature of the Sciences, beginning July 1, 2027. A MFA or PhD in Creative Writing is expected by the date of appointment, with a strong publication record in creative nonfiction.

Undergraduate teaching experience is preferred and valued. The teaching load is five courses per year (four in the first year): two sections of Introductory Creative Nonfiction, one Advanced Creative

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year (four in first year): two sections of Introductory Creative Nonfiction, one section of Advanced Creative Nonfiction, and two courses in the Literature of the Sciences.
• Offer courses that may cross-list with Biology, Environmental Studies, Public Health, and History as appropriate.
