Job summary

The Department of English at Texas Tech University invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in Creative Writing with a specialization in Creative Nonfiction. The appointee will teach courses, mentor MFA and PhD students, and contribute to program growth and community outreach.

We seek a scholar with an MFA or PhD in Creative Writing or English, at least two years of college teaching, and a strong record of nonfiction publications.

Qualifications

• Terminal MFA or PhD in Creative Writing or English by the time of hire.
• Demonstrated at least 2 years of college-level teaching experience.
• Specialization in Creative Nonfiction.
• Significant publications in nonfiction (books or essays).

Responsibilities

• Teach nonfiction workshops at junior level and above.
• Serve as instructor of record for MFA Writing Practicum and related courses.
• Mentor graduate students—MFA theses, PhD qualifying exams, and dissertations.
• Develop a strong record of peer-reviewed/funded research and creative work.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
