Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program by appointment date.
• Professional identity as a counselor demonstrated through academic preparation and licensure.
• Eligibility for licensure as a Professional Counselor in Alabama (e.g., LPC).
• Academic/professional preparation in CACREP-recognized specialty areas.
• Potential for excellence in graduate teaching, mentoring, and supervision.
• Potential for scholarly productivity aligned with tenure/promotion expectations.
• Ability to teach face-to-face and online learning environments.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach specialized graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and related areas.
• Maintain an active program of scholarship, research, and professional contribution.
• Advise and mentor graduate students and supervise practicum/internship students.
• Support CACREP accreditation activities and program assessment.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and community.
