Cal Poly's Computer Engineering Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting August 12, 2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's courses, develop curricula, and engage in high‑quality scholarly work with external peer review.

We value hands‑on, student-centered learning and collaboration across disciplines, and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds passionate about Learn by Doing.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent is required.
• ABD considered but must provide proof that the doctorate was awarded prior to or by the start of the appointment.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop externally funded, applied research with undergraduates and graduates and partnerships with stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate and master's level courses and support curricular development in Computer Engineering.
• Engage in scholarly work of high quality with external peer review.
• Perform service activities at multiple levels of the university.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary settings and contribute to lab-based, hands-on learning.
