Job summary

The School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work with a nine-month appointment.

The successful candidate will teach in the clinical MSW program and contribute to undergraduate and doctoral programs as needed. Primary responsibilities include teaching six courses per year across in-person weeknights and hybrid weekends, advising students, pursuing scholarly work, and participating in curriculum

Qualifications

• MSW from CSWE-accredited program
• PhD or DSW (US or foreign equivalent) required or ABD if completed by Aug 1, 2027
• Ability and interest in teaching clinical social work at graduate level
• Experience teaching in both in-person and hybrid formats

Responsibilities

• Teach six social work courses per year
• Teach across multiple formats (in-person weeknights and hybrid weekends)
• Student advising and mentoring
• Engage in scholarly work, research, and publications
• Contribute to curriculum development and CSWE accreditation
• Participate in departmental, college, university, and community service
