Job summary

Trinity University in San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Classical Studies beginning August 2027. The ideal candidate will teach ancient Greek at all levels and Latin to the intermediate level, develop upper-division courses, mentor undergraduate research, and contribute to Pathways general education.

We seek a dynamic scholar with an active research profile and a commitment to undergraduate teaching in an interdisciplinary setting, with in-person duties

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or ABD in Classics; ABD must finish by Aug 2027.
• Experience teaching ancient Greek and Latin at undergraduate level.
• Ability to develop upper-division courses and mentor undergraduates.

Responsibilities

• Teach Greek at all levels and Latin to the intermediate level; advise majors/minors.
• Maintain a productive research program with publications and conference presentations.
• Provide service to the department and university.
