Job summary

Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Civil Engineering to begin in Fall 2027. The engineering program is ABET-accredited and part of the Department of Physics, Engineering, and Astrophysics, emphasizing engineering mechanics, hands-on design and real-world analysis.

We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, evidence of teaching and scholarly productivity, and a commitment to inclusive undergraduate education.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with focus in Structural Engineering.
• Evidence of teaching experience and commitment to undergraduate teaching.
• Scholarly productivity in applicant's area of study.
• Experience working with students and inclusive pedagogy.
• Professional Engineer’s License is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach Civil Engineering courses and advise undergraduate students.
• Conduct research and engage in scholarship with undergraduates.
• Contribute to ABET accreditation processes and program assessment.
• Engage in service to the College and the department.
