Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to teach chemistry and natural resource science at the college level. The role includes lecturing, labs, advising, and service to the department.

Ideal candidates have college teaching experience, a willingness to engage students through active learning, and the ability to lead laboratory and instrumentation courses while collaborating on undergraduate research projects.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Willingness and aptitude for teaching and engaging students in active learning.
• Experience teaching laboratory and/or instrumentation courses.
• Desire to collaborate with undergraduate students on research projects.

Responsibilities

• Teach transferable, health science, major, and non-major chemistry and natural resource science lectures and laboratories.
• Maintain records, submit grades, and communicate with department and college personnel using established protocols.
• Develop syllabi and course materials; evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies; provide an excellent learning environment and advisement.
• Participate in program and division meetings, and serve on department and college-wide committees.
• Assignments may be multi-campus with day, evening, or weekend classes.
