Job summary

The University of Dayton invites applications for an Assistant Professor & Business Librarian in Dayton, Ohio. This 12-month, full-time tenure-track faculty position will provide research support, instruction, and collection development for the School of Business Administration.

Responsibilities include curriculum-integrated instruction, in-depth business research consultations, and collaboration with the Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience with instruction and reference in an academic, research, or special library.
• Experience or education working with business disciplines including accounting, economics, marketing, finance, management and decisions sciences, and related information sources and tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison to the School of Business Administration (SBA) including research support, instruction, and collection development.
• Design, conduct, and assess curriculum-integrated, scaffolded instruction in the liaison areas for undergraduate and graduate business students.
• Provide in-depth research consultations regarding business resources, including investment and financial data, company and industry information, market research, and economic indicators.
• Provide research consultation for the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, including collaborations with the Hub and other centers.
• Maintain fluency with trends in research and teaching, including AI and emerging technologies.
• Serve on the Instruction Team and support information literacy across CAP general education courses.
• Oversee library collections for Business and Social Sciences and respond to faculty and student needs.
