Job summary

Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology in Botany. This nine-month, on-campus position will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in plant biology and biodiversity, with a strong emphasis on field experiences and experiential learning.

The candidate will build a field-based research program engaging undergraduates and graduates, aiming for collaboration with current faculty.

Qualifications

• Record of accomplished teaching at undergrad and/or grad level.
• Evidence of outstanding scholarship through peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong potential for external funding.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in plant biology including Botany, Dendrology, Forestry, Aquatic Botany, and Plant Taxonomy/Systematics.
• Develop an externally funded, field-based research program with undergraduate and graduate students.
