The City College Center for Worker Education at CUNY invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Black Studies/Human Geography to begin Fall 2027. The successful candidate will engage in research, teaching, and community partnerships, with a focus on the Americas and African diasporas, and may work across divisions and programs within City College.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in compatible area of Social Sciences or equivalent.
• Ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement.
• Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Responsabilités

• Teach 4-5 courses per year (18 credit hours).
• Teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop growing curriculum in Black Studies and Social Sciences and build community partnerships.
