Job summary

The Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems (BBS) in the School of Science and Engineering at UMKC invites applications for a full-time tenure-track/tenure-eligible faculty position in Biomedical Engineering at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Applications from those using engineering, scientific, and technological approaches to life sciences are encouraged, with preferences for Biomaterials, Biomedical Imaging, Neural Engineering, or Computational Biomedical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M. required.
• At least two years of postdoctoral experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• demonstrate excellence in research including initiating or continuing an independent extramurally funded program or serving as PI in a larger collaborative team
• strong commitment to teaching in the classroom and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
• engage in divisional, school, or university services appropriate to the position
• advance the goals and strategic plan of SSE and UMKC
