Job summary

The Construction Management Program in the School of Safety, Security & Emergency Management at Eastern Kentucky University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Construction Management beginning August 2027 on the Richmond Campus. A Ph.D.

in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required; ABD with a scheduled defense by May prior to Fall appointment may be considered.

Qualifications

• PhD in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from a regionally accredited institution.
• ABD with scheduled defense by May prior to Fall appointment may be considered.
• 3+ years of progressive professional construction experience in the United States.
• Previous higher education teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate construction management courses as assigned.
• Develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda.
• Advise students and participate in department/university service.
• Participate in ACCE accreditation processes.
• Stay current with advances in construction industry and pedagogy.
• Mentor student organizations and competition teams.
• Contribute to program priorities within EKU's needs.
