The University of Tennessee Health Sciences, Department of Genetics, Genomics, and Informatics, seeks a full-time tenure-track Associate Professor to lead an independent, externally funded research program aligned with genetics, genomics, and AI-driven biomedical research. The incumbent will publish high-impact work and contribute to department goals.

Responsibilities include collaboration, mentoring, teaching advanced courses, and potential supervision of students and staff.

Competenze

Ph.D. or equivalent in Computational Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or related field.
Six+ years at Assistant Professor level with strong research, funding, and publications.
Experience in computational genetics/genomics, HPC, AI methods, or quantum computing preferred.

Establish and maintain an externally funded research program aligned with department strengths in genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, data analytics, and AI-driven biomedical research.
Publish high-impact research.
Apply for and maintain extramural funding.
Collaborate with researchers within and outside UT Health Sciences.
Teach advanced courses in genetics, genomics, informatics, pharmacology, or related areas.
Mentor students and trainees.
May supervise students, fellows, research staff, programmers, technicians, and other laboratory personnel.
