The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish Linguistics to begin August 7, 2027, in Tampa.

Responsibilities include conducting research, presenting and publishing findings, teaching Spanish at undergraduate and graduate levels, coordinating with Applied Linguistics, and contributing to governance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Spanish Linguistics, Applied Linguistics (Spanish-language focus) or closely related field by Aug 7, 2027.
• Native or near-native command of Spanish and excellent English communication.
• Active research agenda and university-level teaching experience.

Responsabilités

• Conduct, present and publish research and engage in professional activities.
• Teach courses primarily in Spanish for the Spanish program at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Collaborate with graduate programs in Applied Linguistics as appropriate.
• Participate in department, college and university governance.
