Job summary

The College of Nursing seeks an Assistant Professor on the tenure track with a focus on palliative care research. The candidate will develop an externally funded program and contribute to teaching across undergraduate and graduate programs at the Kingston campus and Providence NEC.

Success requires publishing, mentoring students, and collaborating with health-related colleges and external partners. A PhD and Master’s in nursing are required along with RN/APRN licensure eligibility in Rhode

Qualifications

PhD or other research degree at time of appointment.
Master’s degree in nursing.
CV showing potential for/actual research, scholarship, and teaching effectiveness.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in writing skills.
Clinical expertise in palliative care.
Eligible for RN or APRN licensure in Rhode Island.
Ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a robust program of research in palliative care related to nursing and health, supported by extramural funding.
Maintain a high level of scholarly activity evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching missions by mentoring students and teaching courses as assigned.
Service to the college, university, and profession.
