The Department of History at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in transnational modern Europe (1789-1989), including international history and/or the study of historical processes, institutions, or subjects beyond the sovereign nation-state framework. Applications are welcomed from junior scholars focusing on any European region except the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, including a regular lecture on the history of international relations, vital for Penn’s International Relations major. A Ph.D. is expected by the time of appointment.
