The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, College of Aviation, Applied Aerospace Science, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the aerospace field. Experience with commercial and/or military space operations and domain-specific STEM principles is desired. This full-time, 10-month faculty position involves teaching primarily online in the space discipline. As an academic appointment with faculty rank, responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and university service.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate degree, along with academic and professional experience in the commercial space industry. A strong background in research methodologies and publications, a broad insight into interdisciplinary aviation/aerospace activities, and an interest in developing collaborative research projects are preferred. Expertise in the commercial space industry, understanding of the space domain, and knowledge of scientific and engineering operational principles related to space missions are essential.

As an Embry-Riddle faculty member, mentoring students is key. The position requires:

  1. Create a positive and engaging classroom environment focused on student success.
  2. Utilize audio/visual tools to personalize course content and provide individualized feedback.
  3. Understand and accommodate diverse learning styles, especially for non-traditional students.
