Job summary

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 2027. This is a 100% appointed, 9-month, tenure-track position.

Applicants should have a strong research record in semiconductor electronics, photonics, and related materials, with interests including AI, neuromorphic computing, quantum computing, and MEMS, and a commitment to teaching and mentoring

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics by the start of employment.
• Two years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience in the area described above.
• Experience in attracting and securing funding for research activity.
• Experience mentoring students and/or staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach, scholarship/research/creative activity, and service in support of the university’s mission.
• Affiliation with ARIES and collaboration with related centers.
• Demonstrate commitment to teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
