Samford University’s Howard College of Arts and Sciences invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian University environment to apply for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Communication and Media. This full-time tenure track position is a 9-month appointment and carries a twenty-four (24) credit-hour teaching load.

The position will begin in August 2027. Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or ABD in communication studies from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to teach interpersonal communication, quantitative research methods, and organizational communication.
• Active research agenda and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
• At least three years of college teaching at the undergraduate level.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 9-month, full-time tenure-track schedule with a 24 credit-hour load.
• Participate in Samford's general education program.
• Begin August 2027 as an Assistant Professor in a tenure-track role.
