Job summary

The University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biological Sciences. The successful candidate will join as a full-time nine-month faculty member beginning Sept 16, 2024, engaging in teaching, research/scholarship and service.

The base salary range for the nine-month year is $10,587–$10,795 per month ($95,283–$97,155 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications or as required by a prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

• PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology or related field by the date of hire.
• 1 year (12 months) Postdoctoral research experience or foreign equivalent is required by the date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engage in excellent undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
• Teach undergraduate upper division courses in molecular, cellular and developmental biology, immunology and genetics, and contribute to the introductory biology series.
• Develop and teach accompanying labs.
• Propose and develop an active research program involving undergraduates in Cell and Molecular Biology or cellular biology.
• Apply for extramural funding to support the research program.
• Participate in departmental, school, and university committee work.
