Job summary

Santa Clara University seeks an Assistant Professor in Animal Behavior or Behavioral Ecology. The appointment is tenure-track and begins September 1, 2027. The successful candidate will teach, conduct independent research, and contribute service to the Biology Department, College of Arts and Sciences, the University, and the profession.

The position includes comprehensive benefits and two housing assistance programs to ease relocation and housing affordability for tenure-stream faculty.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Animal Behavior, Behavioral Ecology, Zoology, or a related field; Ph.D. must be completed at time of submission.
• At least 12 months of postdoctoral experience.
• Evidence of high-quality research with undergraduate students.
• Demonstrated potential for inclusive teaching and mentoring of a diverse undergraduate population.
• Experience with inclusive pedagogical practices is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Animal Behavior or Behavioral Ecology.
• Engage in independent research and publish findings.
