Job summary

Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Agricultural Education, Communication & Sciences.

The incumbent will develop and teach courses in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communication, recruit and mentor students, and lead a scholarly program centered on effective science communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in agricultural communications, communication(s), life science communications, mass communications, journalism, or closely related field
• Evidence of successful teaching experience in agricultural communications or natural resources communication, OR successful teaching experience in other fields of communication with science expertise
• Evidence of a publication record commensurate with tenure-track expectations
• Commitment to effective teaching and to research in related contexts
• Commitment to scholarship and service
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and empowering all individuals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively effectively

Responsibilities

• Teach and design curriculum for undergraduate and graduate courses in Agricultural and Natural Resource Communications
• Design and conduct research advancing knowledge in Agriculture and Natural Resource Communications
• Pursue extramural grants and contracts supporting research within the department
• Provide service to department, college, university, industry, and profession as requested
