Job summary

The University of Utah's School of Architecture invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in any of several content areas including Advanced Building Systems, Architectural Design + Historic Preservation, and Human Interactions with Big Data. The nine-month appointment begins July 1, 2027, with a strong emphasis on teaching, research, and collaboration across programs.

The candidate will contribute to a program offering M.Arch, BSAS, BAAS, and MSAS, and engage in expanding

Qualifications

Terminal degree in architecture or related field.
Prior academic teaching and/or professional experience (with examples).
Evidence of research or creative work and trajectory of excellence.
Ability to teach design studio courses and seminars in which students develop innovative architectural designs.
Ability to teach core and advanced courses in their areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

Teach across undergraduate and graduate programs, including design studios and core courses.
Integrate research, design, and technology in the curriculum.
Engage students through hands-on learning and critical thinking.
Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
