Job summary

Davidson College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Analytical Chemistry starting July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will develop novel analytical methods, with emphasis on mass spectrometry, and teach CHE 220, 320, and CHE 115, plus advanced electives. The position includes start-up funds and a personal research lab in a state-of-the-art building.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field before the start of the appointment.
• Expertise in development and application of novel analytical methods, particularly mass spectrometry.
• Ability to mentor undergraduates and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Teach CHE 220 and CHE 320, and CHE 115, plus advanced electives.
• Develop and sustain an undergraduate research program with start-up funds.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary science building initiatives.
