Job summary

Salem State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track AI and Machine Learning Professor position beginning Fall 2027. We seek candidates with expertise in AI, ML, and robotics, and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Duties include teaching across CS/IT courses, advising, scholarship, and service; standard load is 12 credit hours per semester. On-site in Salem, MA, with background check required.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or a closely related field.
• ABD with a master’s degree in computer science is welcomed.
• Experience teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced CS/IT courses.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovative, inclusive teaching and scholarly activity.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of CS/IT courses across undergraduate levels.
• Advise students and contribute to scholarship and service.
• Engage in curriculum development and departmental goals.
