Job summary

Sonoma State University seeks an Assistant Professor of Accounting starting August 2027. Qualifications

• Ph.D in Business Administration with Accounting specialization; ABD considered but must complete by Aug 1, 2027.
• Active stream of research evidenced by recent publications or working papers.
• CPA license preferred.
• Proficiency in GenAI and ML technologies.
• Teaching experience; new graduates should have at least 2 semesters of teaching during doctoral program.

Responsibilities

• Teach accounting subjects (including tax and audit).
• Participate in service to the University and community; advise students.
• Maintain office hours and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
• Engage in scholarly activities and meet retention, tenure, and promotion criteria.
• Support CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 and foster diversity and inclusion.
