Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Department of Otolaryngology and the Pittsburgh Hearing Research Center invite applications for a full-time tenure-stream faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level. We seek a leader who will advance mechanistic understanding of hearing or translate research into diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss.

Candidates should hold a PhD in neuroscience or related fields and establish a vigorous independent program.

Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, bioengineering, genetics, epidemiology, data science, or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a vigorous independent research program.
  • Strong record in hearing research or related disorders and their translation to clinical care.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a vigorous independent research program in hearing and related disorders.
  • Develop collaborations with basic scientists and clinicians to advance translational goals.
  • Contribute to education and training through NIH-funded programs and graduate education.
