Job summary

The City of Billings is seeking a seasonal Tennis Instructor to teach basic skills and fundamentals of tennis, including the general rules of play. Pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Sessions are Monday through Thursday at two locations, 5:30 p.m.

- 7:30 p.m. Fall session Oct 20–Nov 12 (4 weeks); Winter session in Jan and Feb. Instructors will follow USTA Net Generation guidelines, complete Net Generation coaching certification, and perform safety inspections.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and the ability to work closely with children.
• Energetic, professional role model for youth.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and have reliable transportation.
• Certified tennis instructor with a solid understanding of basic tennis.

Responsibilities

• Follow USTA Net Generation guidelines and coaching plans.

• Perform pre- and post-game facility inspections to ensure safety and readiness.
• Communicate effectively with participants, staff and caregivers.
• Coach participants through the basics of tennis.

• Sessions are Monday through Thursday at 2 locations.
• 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on weekdays.
• Fall Session runs October 20th -- November 12th - 4 weeks.
• Winter Session - January and February.

• Instructors will follow USTA's Net Generation guidelines and practice plans.
• Instructors will be required to complete USTA's Net Generation coaching certification and achieve "Green Light" coaching status.

• Coach participants through the basics of tennis.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and enforce facility rules.
• Teach teamwork and sportsmanship skills.
