Job summary

City of Billings is seeking a part-time tennis instructor to lead after-school sessions. You will teach basic skills, follow Net Generation guidelines, and model positive behavior for young players. Strong communication and reliable transportation are essential, as you will work evenings and weekends at two locations.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, coaching basics, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship in a fast-paced youth sports setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with children.
• Must be a leader and role model for children.
• Certified tennis instructor with strong understanding of basic tennis.
• Coaching certification required (USTA Net Generation) and Green Light status.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-game facility inspections to ensure safety and readiness.
• Communicate effectively with participants, other staff and caregivers.
• Coach participants through the basics of tennis.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and enforce facility rules.

Work Schedule

• Sessions are Monday through Thursday at 2 locations
• 5:30pm - 7:30pm on weekdays.
• Fall Session runs October 20th - November 12th - 4 weeks
• Winter Session - January and February

Job Summary

Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, energetic personalities and the ability to work closely and patiently with children. Applicants are required to be leaders and must be excellent role models for children. Instructors will concentrate on teaching basic skills and fundamentals of the game of tennis including the general rules of play. Instructors will follow USTA's Net Generation guidelines and practice plans. Instructors will be required to complete USTA's Net Generation coaching certification and achieve "Green Light" coaching status.
