Position: Workers Compensation Attorney

Requirements: Must reside in CA and hold CA license

Role: Remote, 60-90 day contract

Our client, a leading insurance company and financial institution, offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney. As a Field Counsel, you will represent the company and its policyholders in workers' compensation matters.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and revise legal strategies using Litigation Protocols for discovery, investigation, and trial/hearing of cases.
  2. Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and similar proceedings.
  3. Research applicable law; draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, and opinions; conduct settlement negotiations if requested.
  4. Advise Claims Representatives and Insured Clients, providing clear legal opinions and maintaining good relations.
  5. Stay current with legal developments; understand medical, scientific, construction, and engineering issues related to cases.
  6. Utilize technology to improve legal processes and reduce costs.
  7. Act as a team or group leader within the office.
  8. Interface with the Home Office Legal department.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of law school with LLB or JD; admission to the bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year successful experience as an attorney.
  • Knowledge of insurance law and understanding of client operations.
  • Effective communication and persuasion skills.

Additional Details:
