Temporary Water Distribution Operator I Location ORANGE COUNTY AREA Job Code 29.26 Pay range $21 - $22 Hourly

POSITION DEFINITION

Temporary Water Distribution Operator I is an entry‑level position, training status requiring immediate to general supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learns to perform tasks for maintenance and operation of water distribution system.
  • Learns proper use of tools and equipment required.
  • Under direction, participates in installation, repairs and replacement of water mains, services, valves, fire hydrants and meters.
  • Interacts with customers and represents the company.
  • Performs meter reads, ons and offs and field investigations.
  • Performs collection activities of delinquent accounts.
  • Participates in routine maintenance activities such as system flushing, valve exercising and fire hydrant maintenance.
  • Under direction, follows established policies and procedures for repair of equipment.
  • Operates company vehicles and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Available for emergency response, 24/7.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
