City of Valdez Parks & Recreation Department is hiring Swim Instructors to develop and implement aquatic programming and curricula under the Aquatics Coordinator. The role includes supervisory duties and requires flexibility across weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This is a temporary, non-benefited position with a minimum of 20 hours per week and variable work schedule. Indoor aquatic setting, water temperatures aligned with national standards, may require entering the water to

Formación

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Supervisor/leadership training certifications provided by PRCS.
• Some experience in an aquatic setting.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and facilitate a variety of aquatic classes, programs, events and activities for the community.
• Design and implement appropriate classes for the swimming level being taught.
• Communicate regularly with participants and their parents to ensure they are aware of progress.
• Assist with daily operations of the aquatics center.
• Safeguard patrons and staff by ensuring compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
• Handle customer inquiries and participant registration.
• Ensure facility cleanliness standards are maintained and maintenance issues are reported.
• Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Coordinator.
