Job summary

Volkert Inc. is hiring Debris Monitors to support cleanup from Hurricane Isaias across Northeast Florida and Southern Alabama. This is a temporary assignment with no prior experience required; training will be provided.

Schedule up to 7 days per week, 12 hours per day, with pay between $15 and $20 per hour, paid bi-weekly. You will report to a staging area, receive materials, attend safety meetings, monitor loading activities, ensure debris is collected, and note any damages.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (not suspended) and MVR cleared before you can begin work.
• Cell phone to be contacted throughout assignment.
• Reliable transportation for driving to various locations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills – measurements (weight, volume, distance).
• Ability to speak and read English fluently.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Federal guidelines may apply.
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Report to assigned staging area.
• Receive your materials/supplies/equipment/information.
• Attend safety & operations meeting.
• Monitor and observe all loading activities.
• Make sure Contractors pick up all eligible storm-related debris.
• Observe surroundings for possible hazards.
• Fill out Load Tickets completely and accurately.
• Record any damages caused by a Contractor.
