Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting plan-o-grams, and maintain stock while maximizing profitability and teamwork, all while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building displays, stocking and facing shelves, greeting customers, operating the cash register, and assisting with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners. Dollar General is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understand safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic math skills and ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the store or stock room.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; face items on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to complete purchases.
• Handle payments, bag items, and give change as needed.
• Assist with receiving, ordering merchandise via handheld scanners, and store cleanup.
